You are scheduled for chemotherapy treatments but really are anxious as to the after effects of what chemotherapy can bring on. Will you be able to cope with those results? Will people notice your hair gone? What can you do about this? You have been scheduled for ongoing chemotherapy treatments to take care of other issues that have been diagnosed for you. The side effects of chemotherapy is well known in the form of hair loss. How much hair loss that you will lose won't be known until it happens. You really don't have a say in that matter but you do have a choice in how you are to accept the situation. It is this aspect of the treatment that you can and should control and there are many options for you to explore in order to make recovery a bit easier for you to handle. You will notice your hair loss between 10-14 days after your treatment begins. You will notice hairs being on your pillow a little at a time or you may experience more than usual hairs during your daily shampoo. How much hair you lose will be in relative proportion as to the strength of the chemotherapy treatment that you will be receiving. Also how many treatments you are scheduled for determines if your hair will be thinning or in clumps. So now that you have accepted that you will lose your hair you can definitely use some preventive measures to accept it for the time being. I've already stated the first step in hair loss recovery and that is accepting that it is happening and there is nothing you can do about it for now. The hair that you do have left you should appreciate and treat it with care. If you find that you are going to lose most of your hair due to the chemotherapy treatment that it just might be a good idea to shave your head instead of having it patchy bald. If you are in the social spotlight a lot and your vocation depends on networking with people you have the option of using wigs or hair pieces to maintain that look that is so necessary for first image appearances. In summary knowing that you cannot hinder the effects of chemotherapy treatment but in allowing yourself to accept the inevitable will help in your recovery of your hair. This acceptance does not mean giving up on regrowing your hair because there's a good chance that you will in fact regrow your hair after your treatment has run its course. Knowing this fact will definitely help your mindset in regrowing your hair and having this knowledge will help you cope with the after effects of your treatment.
