Wedding Accessories – What You Need At The Wedding

By: Melissa E Cruz

Preparing for a wedding will command most of your time and with doing this, you are in a danger of leaving the preparation for bridal accessories to the very last minute. The most important bridal accessories are listed below as a guide to you.
- Wedding gown. A wedding gown definitely makes the top of the list and scouting for a perfect dress make take you to many stores. It is sometimes easier to find all the other accessories such as the veil, headpiece as well as gloves at the same place. They would usually give you a better price too.
- Bridal bouquet. Don’t make the mistake of carrying the wrong bouquet that absolutely don’t compliment your dress, hair or overall style. Take note of what flowers are in season and settle for the ones that are in season so that you don’t end up paying an insane amount of money just for a bouquet.
- Jewelry. Jewelry will complete your look but beware of wearing too much. You can wear your own jewelry for maybe it has been passed down in your family forever or a borrowed designer jewelry. Whatever it is, be sure that the jewels don’t steal the limelight.
- Bridal shoes. You can look stunning in a great looking pair of shoes but if it’s going to cause you pain all through your ceremony then you’re better off wearing something else.
- Entourage accessories. Dresses, bouquets, shoes and jewelry for your entourage – your groom, bridesmaids, Maid-of-Honor, groomsmen and Best Man, and maybe both sets of parents.
Any other additions to this list will be less essential items that may be considered but are not absolutely necessary. In any case, it is not over yet as this list is only half of what you need. Your full wedding list should have other external wedding decorations accessories, which can be overwhelming.
Generally, these items should be part of your wedding accessories list:
- Wedding invitations – It will be easier if you invite the same people to attend both the ceremony and the reception. However, should you must divide your guest list; the ones to both (which should be with the most names, the ones to the ceremony and the ones to the reception.
- Wedding guestbook – use the same one for ceremony and reception. Guests who came for the ceremony but did not have time to sign in earlier will be able to do so at the reception. This helps on reducing the rush of guests trying to sign their well-wishes all at the same time. The guestbook also makes a wonderful memoir of your special day.
- Wedding album and photographer – these two are must-haves at the wedding so you will have a happy record of the day. Make sure your photographer is reliable and always remember to scrutinize his portfolio before you hire him. The best wedding photographers are always those that come on recommendation so be sure to consult your own connections first before hiring a total stranger.
- Wedding tableware. You need to make an effort for the wedding tables as well. Special wedding tableware should grace the tables at reception or at least the main wedding table. These are toasting flutes or glasses, napkins, place card holders, silverware which should include items like forks, spoons, knives and cake cutter, china and wedding table decorations.
- Wedding favors. As souvenirs to your guests, they reflect you and your spouse’s personalities and lifestyle.
- General wedding décor. To have the best looking décor does not mean you have to spend a fortune. Your wedding can still look beautiful if you make the most of the things you have. Be sure to add a little creativity in flowers, candles or laces to make them look gorgeous.
Other wedding accessories to consider, but are not compulsory at every wedding, are the smaller items like ring bearer pillows, flower girl baskets and wedding pens. While they may be nice to have at the wedding, the beauty of the occasion will not be marred by their absence. To replace a custom-made ring bearer pillow, for instance, just buy (or make) a satin-cover for any of your existing pillows and use that. Your flower girl baskets can easily be bought at any flea market and dressed up with a few colored ribbons and bows.
You can make your wedding accessories and décor according to your liking. Even if you hire professionals to handle them, you should be truly satisfied with the end result. Remember that the most inexpensive wedding can still be the most beautiful wedding.
