Is "ADHD vitamins" a good alternative to stimulant medication for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder? Ordinary supplements such as magnesium, calcium and vitamin B complex are sometimes reported as beneficial for treating ADHD. The rationale is that vitamin B complex can work wonders in the context of brain function while magnesium and calsium can exude a calming effect on the body. Another type of ADHD vitamin that doctors sometimes recommend is organic spirulina. Spirulina, which is a tiny aquatic plant, contains lot of nutrients, such as complete protein, beta-carotene, B vitamins, minerals and beneficial enzymes. It also boast the rare essential fatty acid GLA which can also be found in mother's milk and in evening primrose. The following food items should be avoided if your child has ADHD. They are: apple cider vinegar,butter, bacon, candy, ham, chocolate, luncheon meat, milk, margarine, salami, hot dogs, soy sauce, mustard, and junk food. Foods containing artificial colourings, flavourings, preservatives and monosodium glutamate are also deemed unsuitable for people with ADHD. To hasten the alleviation of ADHD problems, doctors often advised their patients to take ADHD vitamins and do some outdoor phyical activities. The rationale for recommending outdoor activities is to enahnce social prowess and also improve motor incoordination.
